Pontypridd scrum half Gavin Morris has been allowed out of hospital, having been kept in since last week for observation after blood clots were found in his leg and lungs.
The new Ponty recruit had enjoyed an impressive pre-season, playing a prominent role in the Abercynon Sevens tournament victory and featuring in other friendly matches.
What had initially been thought to be a leg injury then kept Gavin out of action as the season proper got underway. Feeling a numbness of the limbs, the young scrum half went to hospital for further check ups, and was detained as a more serious problem was diagnosed, with blood clots discovered in the leg and lungs.
Having been kept in for treatment and further checks, the good news now is that Gavin has been allowed to return home to recuperate. Further diagnosis of the condition will be required, and no timescale can be placed on Gavin’s recovery and return to training with the Ponty squad.
Everyone at Pontypridd RFC meanwhile wishes Gavin as speedy and as full a recovery as possible.
