Bob Cooksley was born in Cardiff. He played for Cardiff Youth, Welsh Youth, Rumney and Cardiff.
He joined up with a successful Pontypridd side in 1979, along with his Rumney colleague, prop Sean O’Sullivan.
Cooksley went on to make 106 appearances for Ponty, scoring 9 tries.
