Ponty 3G pitch open for business

The newly installed 3G pitch at Sardis Road is open for business, and available for a wide variety of uses.

The pitch was resurfaced during the summer of 2017 and now offers a top class facility to the local community.

Activities that have been booked in at Sardis Road include six-a-side football, softball cricket, school sports days, kids’ rugby camps, touch rugby and training sessions.

Other associated facilities around the stadium include multiple men’s and women’s changing rooms, hot drinks and snacks, bars, briefing rooms and free wi-fi.

The stadium is already a home base for the Pontypridd senior and youth teams, all University of South Wales teams, Coleg y Cymoedd and Pontypridd Schools.

Welcoming the launch of the new 3G pitch, Ponty Rugby director Peter Howells said: “We are delighted to promote a top class facility here at Sardis Road and will welcome users, old and new, to make the best and most extensive use possible of it.

“We share the enthusiasm of our customers and wish to fulfil the huge potential of this superb facility. We are back in business and welcome all enquiries as to the use of our pitch, with slots available for hire.”
