Ystrad Rhondda product Alan Roberts came down to play for Pontypridd in the early nineties, providing a good turn of pace in the threequarters.
Alan’s presence as a flyer out wide was reflected in the nickname which he carried – “Zoomer”.
Although making only four senior appearances Alan weighed in with a fair return of two touchdowns in the process.
Alan went on to play for Treorchy, before hanging up his boots to become landlord of the Station Hotel in Ton Pentre.
