RGC v Pontypridd – Match Preview
Pontypridd travel to play RGC in matchday two of the Indigo Welsh Premiership on Saturday 18th December, the match at Parc Eirias kicking off at 2.30pm.
Both teams had mixed fortunes on the opening day last Saturday – Ponty head to Colwyn Bay looking to build momentum after their win against Carmarthen Quins at Sardis Road. RGC suffered defeat away at Llandovery by 32 points to 3 so will be looking to put things right in front of their home support on Saturday afternoon.
The sides have met once this season, Ponty edging a thrilling encounter in the Premiership Cup back in October by 40 points to 38 at Sardis Road.
Ponty have shuffled the team and bench both in terms of personnel and positions for Saturday’s match. Chris Dicomidis leads the side with Kris Parker taking his place on the bench. In the pack there are recalls for Jack Pope at lock and Cally James at no.8 respectively, whilst Sam Evans returns to the matchday squad. Behind the scrum Morgan Richards comes back into the XV and takes his place on the right wing. Garyn Payne earns a start at inside centre which allows Ceri Morris to switch to outside half.
