THAT CUP FINAL: The 1996 Welsh Cup Win – *New Date of April 1st*
Pontypridd RFC are very pleased to announce a new date for our function to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its first Welsh Cup Final win and the remarkable team that achieved it. Ponty played Neath in 1996 in what has generally been acknowledged as one of the finest cup finals to be played at the old National Stadium, Cardiff Arms Park.
The event, due to take place in January was postponed because of Welsh Government restrictions which affected the number of people allowed to attend indoor gatherings, amongst other things.
Anyway, as restrictions have been eased the club have organised a new date of Friday 1st April 2022, the same time of 6.30pm.
Enjoy a meal and a few drinks in the company of the players who won the cup and relive the glory of the day through their words and memories. You will be able to discuss the match with them during the evening and Gareth Charles will be conducting interviews with key players followed by a question and answer session. An auction of match relevant memorabilia will also be held during the evening.
The club are in the process of contacting everyone that booked tickets for the event on the original date and the vast majority are attending the new date. But there a limited amount of tickets still available for the 1st April 2022.
The function will be held in the Grandstand Lounge at Sardis Road, with doors opening at 6:30pm for a 7:00pm start. Tickets are priced at £30 pp, £27 for members (i.e. Gold Cards, Vice Presidents, Season Tickets, Concessions, Exile and Club) and can be booked by contacting the club on 01443 405006 (Monday and Thursday morning) or by email to club@ponty.net
