Match Preview – Pontypridd v Llanelli
Pontypridd welcome Llanelli RFC to Sardis Road on Saturday 2nd April, the Indigo Group Premiership match kicks off at 2:30pm.
The last time the two clubs met was Saturday 21st December 2019 at Sardis Road, on that occasion Joel Raikes was amongst the Ponty tries as we claimed a 26-15 win.
As the season heads into the final straight, Ponty are looking to keep momentum going and building on their current run of four league wins in-a-row. Although Llanelli are one place off the bottom of the current league standings, they are a dangerous team that try and play good rugby and there’ll certainly be no complacency from Ponty on Saturday.
In terms of team news, continuity is the key again with minimal changes – just two to the starting XV from our last outing. In the pack Ieuan Morris returns at hooker after coming off the bench to score a try last week. Behind the scrum there’s a return at scrum-half for Joel Raikes. On the bench there are returns to the matchday squad for Nathan Huish and Llywarch ap Myrddin.
The Pontypridd team selected to play Llanelli is as follows:
15. Morgan Richards. 14. Jac Davies. 13. Bradley Roderick. 12. Garyn Payne. 11. Dale Stuckey. 10. Ceri Morris. 9. Joel Raikes
1. Ben Stephens. 2. Ieuan Morris. 3. Tom Harper. 4. Kristian Parker (c). 5. Chris Dicomidis. 6. Cally James. 7. Sion Parry. 8. Joe Miles
Subs: 16. Nathan Huish. 17. Tom Devine. 18. Morgan Bosanko. 19. James Little. 20. Cai James. 21. Dafydd Buckland. 22. Jake Lloyd. 23. Llywarch ap Myrddin
