Aled Ward signs for Pontypridd
Pontypridd RFC are delighted to announce the signing of Aled Ward from Hartpury RFC. The versatile 24 year old can play across all three positions in the back-row.
Aled has joined Ponty from English Championship club Hartpury, having also spent time on loan at Birmingham Moseley RFC whilst with the Gloucestershire based club. Prior to crossing the Severn Bridge, he studied and played for Cardiff Met RFC and has International honours with Wales U20’s.
On signing for Ponty, Aled said: “I’m really excited at the opportunity to join Pontypridd, it’s a great honour to play for a club of this quality. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed preseason so far and I’m looking forward to getting stuck into the season.”
Ponty forwards coach Lee Davies commented: “Aled is a hugely exciting signing for us as a club. He is an experienced player, with some fantastic rugby exposure behind him. He has been involved in a number of top rugby environments that will have added to his knowledge and development. We as a group look forward to seeing how Aled can influence and shape what we are building at the club. I am sure Aled will push and challenge boys in the squad for that starting shirt. Challenge and competition always brings the best out in us. Ultimately as a coaching and management teams this is what we aspire to achieve.”
Welcome to Pontypridd, Aled!
