Lloyd Rowlands re-signs for Pontypridd
Pontypridd RFC are delighted to announce that Lloyd Rowlands has re-signed for the club.
It was recently announced that Lloyd had left the club at the conclusion of last season, but a change in circumstances means he’s now firmly back onboard and raring to go for the 2022/23 season.
Lloyd joined Ponty in the summer of 2017 and made a significant impact in his first season with the club. A fan-favourite, he’s scored 14 tries in 44 appearances for the Valley Commandos and will be looking to add to that tally when the new season starts in a couple of weeks.
Ponty supporters will have noted Lloyd’s involvement in the club’s pre-season. He played a starring role as the High Motive Commandos won the Sardis 7s at the start of August. In the last couple of weeks he’s bagged tries in both the club’s pre-season matches against London Welsh and Ealing Trailfinders Academy.
On committing to Pontypridd for the coming season, Lloyd said: “I’m really looking forward to hitting the ground running with the boys and it’s always an honour putting on the Ponty shirt. The philosophy Justin (Burnell) has installed here suits me as a player, that’s why it was a no-brainer returning to Sardis Road.”
Ponty Head Coach Justin Burnell said: “It’s great to have Lloyd back. His versatility within our backline is crucial to us and he’s also a big personality off the field.”
Welcome back to Ponty, Lloyd.
