Injury and squad updates
The recent break from league action has proved beneficial for some Pontypridd players, giving added time to recover from niggling injuries.
The majority of the squad are now near full fitness, with only two longer term absentees both of whom have undergone surgery.
Full back or centre Gary Williams (pictured) who has been sidelined since pre-season with a thigh strain is now working hard in training and should be challenging for selection within the next two weeks.
Flanker Ross Morgan is a newcomer to the squad who has yet to make an appearance having broken his arm in the summer, but is now ready for action, with an option to turn out for his local club Penallta to gain match fitness.
Others who are ready for their comebacks are no 8 Hemi Barnes, who was rested as a precaution last weekend with a bruised shoulder, and locks Lee Evans with a calf strain, and Josh Hawkins with minor shoulder damage.
The two longer term absentees, recovering from knee and ankle operations respectively, are flanker Jake Thomas and centre Jarrad Rees, both aiming to be back in action at the turn of the new year.
Away from the injury front, winger Lewis Williams has been missing for the past few weeks due to work rosters, whilst young hooker Corrie Tarrant has been released from the Pontypridd squad by mutual consent, having found it difficult to commit to the club’s training schedules.
