Pooler to visit Sardis to kick-off pre-season

We are very pleased to announce that Pontypool RFC will visit Sardis Road on Saturday 12th August 2023 to kick-off our pre-season schedule. The match will kick-off at 2:30pm.

Ponty were due to play Pooler in the regular season anyway following their long-overdue, and thoroughly deserved promotion back to the Welsh Premiership following an 11-year absence. The two clubs agreeing to August’s match now means we get to welcome the men from Gwent and their army of supporters to Sardis Road earlier than scheduled.

The last time Pooler visited Sardis Road was Saturday 5th November 2011, the home side ran out 32-17 winners that afternoon nearly twelve years ago.

Last week we announced our initial pre-season schedule which has since changed, but now with the confirmation that Pontypool will head to Sardis we can confirm the team’s updated itinerary –

PONTYPRIDD RFC’S PRE-SEASON 2023:

Friday 4th – Sunday 6th August – The Sardis 7s, Sardis Road

Saturday 12th August – Pontypridd v Pontypool, Sardis Road – 2:30pm kick-off

Saturday 19th August – Cinderford v Pontypridd, Dockham Road – 2:30pm kick-off

Thursday 24th August – Pontypridd v Bargoed, Sardis Road – 7:15pm kick-off
