Dan Cotterell signs for Pontypridd

Pontypridd RFC are very pleased to announce the signing of Dan Cotterell. The 21 year old prop links up with Ponty from the University of South Wales.

Dan is USW’s captain and was one of a handful of players from the University that had been training with the Pontypridd squad during the final couple of months of last season. Many of the Ponty faithful will also note that Dan was on the bench for the Valley Commandos away at RGC in the final match of last season.

Pontypridd RFC has an excellent ongoing link with USW and Dan, who’s club of origin is Kidwelly RFC is evidence of that relationship.

Raring to go with Pontypridd, Dan said: “It’s an absolute honour to have the opportunity to play for a club with so much history and success. I’m really looking forward to the coming season.”

Commenting on Dan’s signing, Ponty Team Manager Stuart Rix said: “It’s great to have Dan onboard for next season. He was very unlucky not to make his Ponty debut last season when he helped cover the bench for our final game at RGC. He has been training with the squad for several months whilst studying as a USW student. His attitude and ability has impressed the coaching team who have decided to bring him in full time to continue his development as a Pontypridd player. Dan will hopefully be the first of many new signings that stem from our partnership with USW.”

Croeso Dan!
