Joe Davies signed for Pontypridd from Llanharan RFC for the 2024/25 season. Joe, who is as equally comfortable playing on the wing or in the centre rejoined Ponty having made 24 appearances for the Club between 2016-2022.
Joe played his junior age grade rugby for Ponty, starting at under 12s all the way through to Youth. When he finished playing for Ponty Youth he was drafted straight into the Senior side and played 17 games during the 2016/17 season, scoring 5 tries in the process.
Joe departed the Club to travel and play in both California and New Zealand for just over a year. He then returned to Ponty ahead of the 2021 covid-restart, making a further 7 appearances during the 2021/22 campaign.
He then left the Club to pursue a career in the police force as he didn’t have the required time to commit to semi-pro rugby. Joe’s work became more settled and he joined Llanharan for the 2023/24 season and helped the club win the treble of league, cup and Silver Bowl. On a personal level he finished top try scorer for The Dairymen during their treble winning campaign.
Joe combines his club rugby with playing for South Wales Police, the Welsh Police and the British Police rugby teams.
