Ioan Evans signed for Pontypridd from RFU Championship club Cornish Pirates for the 2024/25 season.
Ioan was already a familiar face to the Ponty faithful having played for our mini and junior age grade sides and then Ponty Youth before making his senior Club debut in the second half of the 2019/20 season.
Ioan was part of the Cardiff Blues academy and was allocated to Cardiff RFC when rugby resumed after the Covid 19 pandemic in 2021. He regularly turned out for the blue and blacks whilst also making his bow for the senior regional side. The summer of 2023 saw the powerful centre make the move to Penzance to sign for the Cornish Pirates ready their 2023/24 campaign. It was a successful season for the Pirates, the Cornishmen finished in second place in the RFU Championship with Ioan being a big contributor to their success.
