Committed to Ponty
The make-up of the Pontypridd squad has been consolidated as a number of players have committed their longer term future to the club.
A mix of the experienced ‘old guard’, form players of the current generation and promising newcomers that have recently joined, have all extended their Pontypridd contracts.
The players who have put pen to paper this week are centre and captain Dafydd Lockyer, wingers Dale Stuckey and Alex Webber, flanker Rhys Shellard, lock Josh Hawkins and prop Jon Elley.
Ponty Team Manager Dan Godfrey noted his delight with the news that such key players saw their future with the club.
“This is good news for us” said Godfrey, “especially coming in the middle of the current season. We are continuously working to enhance the playing squad, both with new recruits such as prop Ian George, also by extending the contracts of existing players.
“This underlines our intent to continue to challenge for honours in the coming seasons.”
