Injury lay off for Lockyer
Sat 31st March
Pontypridd captain Dafydd Lockyer is likely to be out for the remainder of the season, having fractured his ankle in the home match against Llandovery on 24th March.
Lockyer retired hurt early in that game but required extensive scans during the following week to determine the exact nature of the injury.
Whilst his team were playing Swansea at St Helens on Good Friday, Lockyer was in hospital under the expert medical supervision of surgeon Stuart Roy.
Whilst the injury is bad news, the silver lining around this particular cloud is that Lockyer will not require surgery, with an estimated recovery time of six to eight weeks.
