Ponty host Ystalyfera in pre-season finale

Pontypridd’s pre-season itinerary reaches its conclusion on Saturday 25th August with the visit of Swansea Valley side Ystalyfera, the match kicking off at 2:30pm.

Previous friendly wins over Cambrian Welfare (home) and Clifton (away) have seen Pontypridd make progress in their summer preparations, with a large squad utilised in both matches.

Ystalyfera finished the 2017 -18 campaign as runners-up in Division One West Central and were West Wales Cup champions.

Ponty welcome back club captain Dafydd Lockyer from recent injury, with prop Ian George, no8 Steff Jenkins and scrum half Dai Francis also making their first pre-season starts. Wing Sean Cooper is called up from Llantwit Fardre to take a place on an extended bench.
