New Recruits
The two newest recruits to the Pontypridd RFC squad for the coming winter’s campaign are prop Curtis Reynolds and flanker Siôn Parry, both of whom made their club debuts in the first pre-season friendly against Newport.
Romford born Curtis Reynolds was introduced to rugby by his Welsh father and graduated to the London Wasps Academy from where he represented the Welsh Exiles. Having made appearances for Plymouth Albion and Gala, the widely travelled young prop then settled at RGC where he gained valuable Premiership experience. Still only 22 years of age, Reynolds joins Pontypridd as a prop of great potential.
Another promising young recruit is 20 year old back-rower Siôn Parry from Rhiwbina in Cardiff. Having progressed through the junior ranks of his local club, Parry was given an opportunity at Premiership level with Bedwas. A close-season move to Ponty allows the young openside flanker an opportunity to continue to mature and play at the highest club level.
Pontypridd RFC Director of Rugby Justin Burnell is happy to welcome both Reynolds and Parry into the fold.
“We are well aware that the league and cup campaigns this season will be very competitive and will require real strength in depth amongst the squad” said Burnell.
“The addition of these two youngsters will enhance our selection options and allow us to continue to develop young talent at Premiership level.”
