Deverson Departs for the Devils
Pontypridd RFC can announce that our Head of Medical Services Kathryn Deverson will be leaving the Club to take up the role as Lead Therapist at Cardiff Devils ice hockey team.
One of the toughest jobs at the Club is keeping the players held together with strapping and tape on a weekly basis whilst nurturing them back to full fitness so that they are able to get back out onto the pitch after injury. Once out on the pitch providing them with the necessary medical support when injuries occur is essential and something that our Medical Team, led by Kath, do with excellence.
Kath’s last match with Ponty will be against Brecon at Sardis Road on Saturday 16th November, and she said: “I wanted to thank the club for being so supportive during my time at Pontypridd. I have loved every minute of it and will be sad to leave. I’ll always be a Ponty girl through and through, the best club I have worked for.”
Wishing her all the best for her new role, Pontypridd Honorary Secretary Steve Reardon said: “Kathryn has always conducted herself in an appropriate professional manner which is a credit to her reputation. Consequently, it is unsurprising that she has secured a role with a sporting organisation such as a premier professional ice hockey team; Pontypridd RFC’s loss is the Cardiff Devils gain!
On behalf of Pontypridd RFC, I thank her for her service to Pontypridd RFC and wish her every success in her new role.”
Succeeding Kathryn at Pontypridd RFC will be Saffron Hall. Saffron has been part of the Club’s Medical Team this season, working with Kath, and will now assume the responsibility of our new Head of Medical Services – and we’d like to wish her luck in her new role at the Club.
We’d like to place on record our thanks to Kathryn Deverson for all her hard work during the four years that she has been with Pontypridd RFC, and would like to wish her well for her future career.
All The Best Kath
