Howard Casey joined Pontypridd RFC in the summer of 1983 after being invited to train with the Club by Cenydd Thomas. Howard was a serving police officer and joined the club from South Wales Police RFC.
He made 19 appearances for Ponty during the 1983/84 season and scored two tries – one of them coming against Gloucester at Kingsholm in September 1983. A serious back injury unfortunately ended Howard’s playing career and he later went on to coach and manage Merthyr RFC.
