Local boy Barry Jones came up through the ranks of Pontypridd Youth and was capped by Wales at that level as a hard grafting flanker.
Stepping up to senior level Barry found his opportunities at Pontypridd limited with four appearances to his name, before moving on to play for Treorchy.
Barry was employed as a railway technician.
