A native of Bangor in North Wales, but raised in the St Helens area of Lancashire, Ben Rose came to UWIC to study sports management, and represented the college side in the Welsh league division one.
Having gained representative honours with Welsh Universities, Ben was invited to become a trialist for Pontypridd, and figured in the club’s pre-season fixtures in the summer of 2005. Ben Rose was appointed as the Blues North junior development officer, covering the Heart of Wales, and Rhondda Cynon Taf area, employed by the Blues region and Crownford Ltd.
In the summer of 2006 Ben departed from Pontypridd to play for premiership rivals Glamorgan Wanderers.
