In memoriam – Andrew Jones

Pontypridd RFC along with the rest of the local rugby community is mourning the loss of one of its most memorable characters, Andrew Jones who sadly passed away last week.

Andrew was a big part of the club for many years around the turn of the century, an avid supporter who could recite Ponty fixtures and results from memory, hardly ever missing a match.

His dedication extended to becoming a volunteer with the backroom staff who prepared the changing rooms and kit on match days at Sardis Road, often leading the team out on to the pitch and a firm favourite with all the players.

His sad loss will be deeply felt and the commiserations of all at Pontypridd RFC go out to Andrew’s family and friends in their time of grief.
