Match Preview – Pontypridd v Ebbw Vale

This Saturday 10th December Pontypridd welcome Ebbw Vale to Sardis Road for a match in the Indigo Group Premiership, kick-off is at 2:30pm.

Last season the two clubs met three times with home advantage proving crucial on each occasion. It was one win apiece in the Welsh Premiership Cup in the early months of the season before Ponty triumphed in the solitary Premiership match against the Steelmen – by 14 points to 3 on the final day of the league campaign at Sardis Road.

Both teams will be heading into this Saturday’s match with confidence. Ponty will be taking heart from last Saturday’s excellent win at Aberavon in the cup whilst Ebbw are on a run of three consecutive wins in the league, although they did succumb to RGC in the cup last weekend.

Matches between the Valley Commandos and the Steelmen are generally close-fought affairs and this week promises to be no different.

Team news –

Pontypridd have made just two changes to the XV that started against The Wizards last Saturday, one change apiece in the backs and forwards. In the backline Jordan Howells is recalled to start at outside centre. In the forwards Sion Parry is drafted back in to start an openside flanker.
