Matchday Preview – Pontypridd v RGC

This Saturday 15th April Pontypridd welcome RGC to Sardis Road, the Indigo Group Premiership match against the North Walians kicks off at 2:30pm.

The two sides played each other recently – last month on Saturday 11th March at Parc Eirias. Ponty travelled up to Colwyn Bay with raft of players both injured and unavailable and it proved to be a tough afternoon, RGC ran out deserved winners by a 42 points to 3 score-line.

The last time RGC visited Sardis Road was on Saturday 16th October 2021 and it was arguably the game of last season. Both teams shared 12 tries on the day but it was Pontypridd that edged the scoreboard by 40 points to 38! Ponty’s tries were scored by Dale Stuckey, Ieuan Morris (2), Joe Miles, Lloyd Rowlands and Joe Davies.

Last Thursday evening on the eve of the Easter weekend, Ponty slipped to a 32-10 defeat away against Ebbw Vale, and last Saturday RGC suffered a narrow 32-31 loss away at Carmarthen Quins. Both sides will be looking to get back on the winning trail this Saturday.
