Player departures
As is usual at this time in the close season Pontypridd RFC can confirm the departures of some of the playing squad. Morgan Richards, Bradley Roderick, Dafydd Buckland, Jack Pope and Llywarch ap Myrddin have all left the club.
Morgan Richards joined the club in October 2019, initially whilst still linked to the Dragons academy, before later signing for us permanently and went on to play 27 times for the club, scoring 3 tries.
Bradley Roderick made 20 appearances and scored 1 try for Ponty having joined the club prior to the 2021/22 season after his release by the Ospreys.
Scrum-half Dafydd Buckland joined Pontypridd from the Dragons in July 2020 but due to the covid pandemic had to wait a further 12 months to make his debut. He scored 1 try in his 17 appearances during his time with us.
Second row Jack Pope was another who signed for the club, from Bridgend, in readiness for the 2021/22 season and went on to make 18 appearances and scored 1 try during the recent campaign.
Llywarch ap Myrddin is retiring from rugby. He made 12 appearances and scored 1 try for Ponty last season having joined from Newport for the 2021/22 campaign – we’d like to wish him well in his retirement.
Pontypridd RFC would like to thank all five players for their efforts during their time with the club and would like to wish them well for the future.
We’ll have further squad news for our supporters in the near future, watch this space.
