Ponty Youth away to Rumney in top of the table clash
Pontypridd Youth will seek to re-ignite their Blues A League campaign with a crunch away tie against Rumney Youth on Saturday 7th April, the match kicking off at 2:30pm.
This is a top of the table clash with the result crucial to Ponty’s ambitions of claiming the league crown. Rumney top the table on 45pts with Pontypridd two points adrift in second place, both teams having won nine of their ten fixtures.
The Blues A League campaign has been a fragmented one with a large backlog of unfulfilled games to clear, Cowbridge Youth for example having played only five games so far. Pontypridd Youth’s last league game was back on 9th February when they won away at Merthyr.
Having been short of match action over the past month, Ponty Youth will need to hit the ground running in the away match at Rumney. Honours between the two teams are shared so far this season. Pontypridd won their home league tie against the Cardiff club by 10pts to 5 back in December, but Rumney gaining revenge with a National Youth Cup quarter final win over Ponty by 21pts to 11 on 17th February.
