Pontypridd v Carmarthen Quins – Matchday Preview
Pontypridd host Carmarthen Quins in the first round of Indigo Welsh Premiership fixtures on Saturday 11th December, the match kicking off at 2.30pm. It will be Ponty’s first league match since triumphing at The Wern against Merthyr on Saturday 7th March 2020.
Pontypridd will be looking to make a winning start to the league after an indifferent campaign in the Indigo Premiership Cup competition. The Quins finished third in the West Conference of the Premiership Cup with six wins from their ten matches.
The games between Ponty and Quins usually produce close fought encounters and in the 2019/20 season each team came away with one win apiece – Ponty winning at Sardis Road and Carmarthen winning at Carmarthen Park.
Supporters are reminded that the Pwllgwaun end remains closed and access is only via the clubhouse entrance. Ticket prices for the game are priced at £12 for adults and £10 for concessions with under 16’s gaining free entrance provided they are accompanied by a paying adult.
Before Ponty’s kick off, live football will be shown on the screens with current Premier League table toppers Manchester City entertaining Wolves, the match kicking off at 12.30pm. There’s also a full afternoon of live Heineken Champions Cup rugby – selected matches will also be shown on the screens.
After the game there is live entertainment in the clubhouse with the return of favourites the Vale of Jam-Morgan. The exciting duo start playing at 5.30/6.00pm. As we get closer to the big day why not wear your favourite Christmas jumper or outfit to Sardis this Saturday.
With a fantastic day of live sport and music on offer, Sardis Road is the place to be this coming Saturday!
