Pontypridd v Cinderford – Matchday Preview
Next on Pontypridd RFC’s pre-season schedule is an Anglo-Welsh clash against Cinderford RFC. The friendly match against the men from the Forest of Dean takes place at Sardis Road this Saturday 17th August and kicks off at 3:00pm.
Last season, on Saturday 19th August 2023 the two clubs met at Cindy’s Dockham Road ground and a points-fest played out in the West Country sun with Ponty winning 40 points to 34.
Pontypridd will be looking to keep building momentum this Saturday following pre-season wins over Abercwmboi and Tenby United respectively. The Valley Commandos have registered two wins out of two whilst being able to give valuable game time to both core squad members and a number of trialists who have performed admirably.
Cinderford RFC now ply their trade in RFU National League 2 West following their unfortunate relegation from RFU National League 1 last season, but they are a proud club that will be eager to return to National League 1 at the conclusion of 2024/25 and will no doubt provide Ponty with another stern test this Saturday afternoon.
