Pontypridd v Llanelli match preview
Pontypridd host Llanelli in a festive Premiership tie on Saturday 21st December, the match at Sardis Road kicking off at 2:30pm.
This will be Ponty’s first home fixture for a month, having suffered two defeats on the road against Llandovery and Swansea in their previous engagements. Llanelli however have put together an impressive run of five consecutive victories, taking them up to sixth spot in the table, one position and three points behind Pontypridd but with a game in hand.
To regain momentum in the league, Ponty will need to replicate their form of the previous season against Llanelli, when they completed the double with a 43pts to 0 win at Sardis in September and a 3pts to 22 win at Parc y Scarlets in late December.
The latest injury absentees for Ponty are winger Dale Stuckey with shin splints, scrum half Tom Rowlands with an ankle strain and flanker Rhys Shellard with shoulder damage, whilst lock Kristian Parker is away on domestic leave. Back into the fold comes flanker Morgan Sieniawski following his stint with the Wales Sevens squad.
