Ponty’s front four
Pontypridd have bolstered their front row options for the coming season with the addition of four new players to the extended senior squad.
Props Connor Lewis and Tom Mably and hookers Geraint Clarke and Will Haly are the newcomers who will be packing down together in Ponty colours next season.
Lewis and Mably will be familiar to Ponty supporters, having already featured for the club over the past two seasons. Both are former Blues Academy interns, both capped by Wales at under 20 level and both having represented the University of South Wales. Lewis will shore up the loose head side of the scrum and Mably the tight head.
Twenty-five year old hooker Geraint Clarke joins Pontypridd from Premiership rivals Bargoed, having previously played for Senghenydd and Nelson. He has gained a reputation for his physical presence and line-out skills.
Competing with Clarke for the no2 jersey, along with Huw Dowden and Joe Page, will be current USW hooker Will Haly. The former Gloucester Academy youngster has already featured for Ponty, twice coming off the bench towards the end of last season.
