Premiership East round up – 28/10/17
The Premiership East campaign resumed on the weekend of 28th October following a two week break.
The action got underway on Friday evening as Cardiff hosted old rivals Newport and registered a 37pts to 22 bonus point win at the Arms Park.
The match of the day on Saturday was the top of the table clash at the Bridge Field. Bedwas went down to only their second defeat of the campaign, by 15pts to 37 against Pontypridd. The visitors registered a try scoring bonus point to leapfrog their opponents to top spot.
Merthyr kept close on the heels of the league leaders with a 19pts to 34 away win at Cross Keys, consigning their opponents to the unfamiliar setting of bottom placed club.
In a game dominated by kicks at goal, Ebbw Vale secured a 19pts to 14 home win over Bargoed.
