Premiership round up – 09/05/18
A batch of midweek Premiership games played up to Wednesday 9th May had a significant bearing on the top of the table rankings with the lead changing three times in as many days.
It was Merthyr who emerged still as league leaders, but only by coming from behind to edge a 14pts to 17 away win at Ebbw Vale on Wednesday evening.
The previous night Pontypridd had briefly crept to the top of the table courtesy of a 16pts to 27 away win at Newport. Llandovery kept in touch with the leaders as they travelled to Bargoed and came away with a 24pts to 47 victory.
Llanelli bucked a trend of recent defeats by visiting the potentially difficult venue of Pandy Park and posting a 22pts to 30 bonus point win over Cross Keys.
