Premiership round up – 29/02/20
It was top versus bottom in the round of Premiership matches played on Saturday 29th February, with the result going to form.
Cardiff consolidated a ten point advantage at the summit of the table as they posted a 41pts to 12 home bonus point win over basement club Bridgend.
Ebbw Vale gave their survival hopes a boost as they battled to a 6pts all draw away to second placed Carmarthen, who saw Aberavon advance to within one point of them following a seven try 18pts to 48 victory over Llanelli at Parc y Scarlets.
Llandovery leapfrogged to fourth place in the table as they narrowly beat visitors Merthyr by 17pts to 14, Pontypridd meanwhile dropping to fifth after conceding a lacklustre home defeat to Newport by 12pts to 17.
There was a close encounter at St Helens as visitors RGC edged a 24pts to 25 win over Swansea.
