Swannack signs on the dotted line
Pontypridd RFC are very happy to announce the signing of full-back Cole Swannack. Cole has joined the club from Bishop Stortford who play in National One in England.
Swannack began playing as a six-year-old with home town club Wattstown RFC and attended Ysgol Gyfun Cymer.
He went through the Cardiff Blues Age Grade system, playing for Cardiff U16’s and U18’s and played for Coleg y Cymoedd in the Welsh Schools and Colleges League before heading over the Severn Bridge to study sports science at Hartpury.
Cole played full-back for Hartpury in the BUCS Super Rugby, Bishop’s Stortford in National League One in England and featuring regularly for invitational 7’s side Speranza 22. No stranger to 7’s, he has also previously featured for Bristol Bears in the Premiership 7’s.
He made his Wales 7’s debut in the third round of the 2021/22 World Series campaign in the third leg of the series in Malaga on Wales’ return to the international stage after a two year absence.
On signing for Ponty, Cole said: “I’m excited to join Pontypridd RFC, a club I’ve grown up watching and the history they’ve got producing some quality players and playing in big games. The support they get is like no other club which excites me to play.”
He added: “I’m excited to get started and get back playing with good mates of mine and coaches I’ve worked with previously. With the style of play Pontypridd play, it suits me and I’m looking to play my part in that and push the club back to winning trophies.”
Everyone at the club are excited to see Cole take to the field in Pontypridd colours. Ole!
