Swansea v Pontypridd – match preview
Pontypridd make the seaside trip to Swansea on Saturday 14th December, facing the All Whites at St Helens in a Premiership tie that kicks off at 2:30pm.
A disappointing 18pts to 8 defeat away to Llandovery on the previous weekend saw Ponty slip to fourth position in the league table whilst Swansea, trailing behind in ninth place, were boosted by a narrow 10pts to 13 away win at Ebbw Vale.
The Valley Commandos claimed a league double over the All Whites last season, winning by 5pts to 32 at St Helens in October then by 31pts to 19 at Sardis Road in February.
Changes are made amongst the Ponty squad in preparation for the Swansea game. Blues centre Garyn Smith makes a return to his club of origin, with Mason Grady moving out to the wing and Ben Jones resuming at outside half. Amongst the forwards, Rhydian Jenkins is given a start at hooker with Kristian Parker moving from the second to the back row. Former Ponty Youth and current Blues Academy flanker Cally James is drafted in on the bench.
