Walking Football grand final at Sardis

Pontypridd RFC will host the Walking Football Home Nations Final on its 3G pitch at Sardis Road on Sunday 7th January 2018.

Walking Football is one of a wide range of activities now taking place on the top class playing surface, and one which has proved to be very popular.

Sardis Road will be the venue for the WFA Home Nations Final between Welsh champions Merthyr Town FC (pictured above) and English giants Birmingham.

All are welcome to attend, with admission free and the action getting underway from 4:30pm. This event is proudly supported by Game On Wales & The Coalfields Regeneration Trust.

‘Walking Football is a slower version of the beautiful game designed to help keep an active lifestyle for over 55s, as well as getting those back playing football who had to stop due to injuries. It is a non-contact sport and anyone that sprints, runs, or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free kick being awarded to the opposition team.’
